My dear Miss Thomas: --

I thank you very much for your kind invitation to stay at the Deanery, but I am planning to go to my cousins in Overbrook on Friday morning and have made engagements to meet one or two people for luncheon.

The Girton School people have kindly consented to let me off and it gives me much pleasure to accept your invitation to give the Bryn Mawr Commencement address. Perhaps we will have the opportunity to discuss the subject matter next week!
