Dear Kathleen:

I shall be glad to lunch with Miss Addams, Mr Helsing & Mr Lovett on Thursday Sept. 30. Miss Addams knows I am sure, the depths of my ignorance on the subject of ↑the↓ Working Men's [page 2] College near Copenhagen.

Mr Manniche wrote to me last June, after spending the night here & spoke of "Dr. Dorf ↑Armitage 3679 accepted↓ (pastor) & ↑4.00 P.M.↓ Dr Peter Clemensen ↑accepted Normal 181↓ (physician)" as Doves on the Chicago Committee. He added Duncan ↑Went [illegible] 8870↓ McDonald with a question mark. Perhaps Miss Addams would like to ask them [page 3] to lunch too.

Mr. Manniche saw ↑can't come↓ Mrs ↑Wm. F.↓ Drummer ↑sup. 3298↓ when he was here at my suggestion. She was sympathetic & he thought would give money. He saw Mrs ↑Calumet 7355↓ W. G. Hibbard ↑uncertain↓ in Winnetka ↑Winnetka 50↓ at Mr Francis Hackett's request. Mrs Hibbard & [page 4] her brother-in-law Mr Hale were charmed with Mr Manniche's lovely personality & I think Mrs Hibbard might make a contribution if she understood what the school was all about. I am not able to answer her questions.

This is not very helpful. I will try to learn. We want to see you, dear Kathleen [written in the top left corner of page 1] very soon.

Yours with love

Ruth W. Porter
