My dear Mr. Ickes: --

Could you not take my statement about the [Isaak]s' matter from "Twenty Years at Hull-House" which was written almost four years ago and certainly sounds "cool and detached"

If the statement were made that it was taken from that book it might seem a little less like a political document. It begins about Page 403 of the book and goes on to Page 407. You probably would not care to use it just as it is but I am afraid I cannot write anything better at the moment. I will take the statement with me and if I can possibly find the time to write anything will send it back to you.

Hastily yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

Harold Ickes, Esq.,
Chicago, Illinois.
