NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR REDUCTION OF ARMAMENTS

532 SEVENTEENTH STREET, NORTHWEST
WASHINGTON, D.C.

August 28, 1922.

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House Settlement,
Chicago, Illinois.

My dear Miss Addams:

I am writing to ask that you send me within the next two or three weeks, at the office in Washington, a list of some of the outstanding men and women in the W.I.L., to whom we may send letters asking them to sign a call for a conference in Washington on the 5th, 6th and 7th of December, to consider important subjects which have to do with the work of our Council and the general movement for World peace.

We want to make this conference one of the nation wide interest, and it is our purpose to solicit the signatures of several hundred prominent men and women in the country to this Call. We hope to get several Congressmen, Governors, leading Educators, leading women, lawyers, doctors, Bishops, Ministers and others. I will appreciate it very much indeed if you can send me not only the names of persons who are most prominent in the above named organization, but also some other leading men and women of your acquaintance. If you do not have the time to attend to this, perhaps you can put this letter in the hands of some one else who can look after it.

Very cordially yours,

S. E. Nicholson [signed]
Associate Secretary.
