My dear Mrs. [Morley]:
Your cordial letter to Miss Addams was received some weeks ago and has not been answered because of the great pressure of work in this office, particularly in connection with the Emergency Peace meeting that was held in Chicago last week.
Miss Addams wishes me to thank you for your letter and for your offer of help. It means a great deal to have you offer help. We are sending you some literature that will tell you about the Peace Party and how it was started. We are hoping that the WCTU and other organizations will help in this movement and we are sending letters to as many of them as we can reach asking for such help.
If you can do some personal work, could you not form a local group that would take membership in this National Association? Any group of six or more people may join the Association by paying $5.00 into the Treasury. Such a group may fix its own local dues and have the fees of individual members in whatever work they wish to undertake. If you [cannot] form such a group we are glad to receive individual memberships for $1.00.
If you have questions that are not answered by the leaflets sent, please do not hesitate to write to this office and we will try and reply more promptly than we did to your last letter.
