My dear Miss Addams --

Perhaps my letter to you sounded a little more definite than I intended for yours sounded quite definite in reply. I cannot yet pledge [myself] to go to you in April and felt [page 2] that I should say this so you would not make any definite plans for depending on me. I must take the matter up definitely with Mr. Mead and see if I can get substitutes for my twenty or more lectures here and decide if it will jeopardize my work <for the fall> to be away at the time. [page 3]

I will let you hear from me later regarding this matter.
