My dear Mr Ely

I had a letter from Mr McCormick the day after yours came. I feel as if I would like to congratulate you both. I have been in my room for ten days with an attack of [tonsillitis] but am just out again and hope to see Mr Lawson soon. An invitation came to <the Wisconsin> commencement the other day, but no word of the degree. I am leaving June 9th and shall be [most] happy in regard to it. Always faithfully yours Jane Addams
