Dear Miss Addams:

I failed to get a pass to New York so am writing Mr. Kennedy that I shall not be at the Executive Committee meeting. I certainly am glad that you are to be there, as the interests of the Middle West are so apt not to be fully considered if no one from here is present.

I am sorry that you can not tell of large funds contributed by the Chicago area to the Mid-Western office budget, since we were so anxious to have the office, but you can explain it to the others better than anyone else possibly could. Having to raise more than half of the entire budget, in addition to paying the usual membership fees made the whole thing pretty hard on Chicago and to some it did not seem fair.

Lea Taylor told me yesterday that her father and Mrs. Taylor will be here until shortly before Christmas. Can we plan to do something just after your return from the East?

Sincerely yours,

Winifred Salisbury [signed]
