My dear Mr Kellogg:

May I thank you for your letter of the seventh. I am having the finished chapters of my book copied, and will send you one or two. I promised to send one to a religious magazine, but I think there will be one or two which you might care for.

I have given up publishing it before I go away, and am going to use it as a sort of a source book for my speeches. I hope to add something from the Vienna Congress, and get it out rather quickly on my return.

Faithfully yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
