Dear Miss Addams:
We shall be looking forward to those chapters very eagerly.
Do you plan by chance to be in New York before sailing on June [4]? If so and you could get material to me two or three days in advance, that would be most fortunate in giving me a chance to take it up with you when you are here. I am going to the National Conference of Social Work in Milwaukee toward the end of June and I am sorry that it so [falls] that my one middle western trip of the year will come at a time when you are not in Chicago.
Do, if you will, put your thinking cap on and give us your suggestions for the monthly graphic. You have gifts of imagination and social insight which always [make] me think of springs on the mountain side, -- they reach so far back from the rather shallow cross-currents of the bottom lands where the Survey takes its course. After a winter of it I feel pretty stale and you can't know how thirsty I am for a draught ladled from your spring.
I am turning your pledge as sustaining member over to Mrs. Brenner. You must have gotten one of our form letters which went out to all cooperating subscribers. We would not have intentionally singled you out for such a bit of exploitation.
Sincerely,
