My dear Miss Addams: --
I am taking the liberty of sending you under another cover a pamphlet entitled "The Jews in Poland", gotten out by the National Polish Committee of America. I hope that, despite your busy life, you will find time to read this.
In these days we seem to be absolutely at the mercy of propaganda. I have never had personal experience with any propaganda which seemed to me so terrifying as that directed against the Poles, emanating, I believe, from German and Jewish sources. The Germans feel that a strong prosperous Poland will be a continuous limitation on their natural development toward the East. What the Jews feel I cannot make out. Both the Poles and the Jews in Poland deserve every sympathy. They must learn to live and work together. If Russia opens up I believe that many of the Russian Jews will filter back into Russia, which may be the solution.
