Dear Miss Addams,
I am sending you some literature which has been published lately, and which I think will interest you. The Fight the Famine Council was started about a year or so ago, and has, I think, accomplished something, though everything done in the way of relief and in pushing policy seems [infinitesimal] when one considers the needs of Europe.
It is difficult to make people [realize] here -- and I am sure it is difficult to make them [realize] in America -- the connection between international policy and the fearful suffering in Europe.
We hope to have another conference in October, and it would be an enormous gain if you could come over for it and induce some Economists and business people to attend from America -- It really seems a great opportunity. Do you think an English speaker would help the cause if we could send one to America.
If you could find people in America to take our literature, and to contribute something to help us to enlarge the area to which we send it, and to produce more, we should be thankful. We will send our report when it is published.
