I am awfully sorry that you are having such difficulties, but after all you are to be congratualted on having secured the little cottage. I have to ask Stanley to send you the fifty dollars because I didn't have it in the bank, but I will pay that back to him, so that you can have the fifty dollars for the Grant Loco. lot. There has been a little delay over the releasing of the dower right by your father but it will soon come. [page 2] I will try to send something from the east whither I depart tomorrow and I am sure we can [scramble] along until May 1st. I suppose the condition and expense are apparent first and the fascination of the place appears later.
We miss you all very much, it seems very still on this floor without the dear little Louise.
