My dear Mr. Brown: --

May I thank you for the check of one thousand dollars which came this morning to be used toward the salary of an organizer of Peace Societies. Mrs. Thomas has had such fine results wherever she has gone that I am sure the money will bring a good return.

I am continually stirred by the great interest on the part of women everywhere in the Peace movement.

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

James Scott Brown, Esq.,
