April 11, 1914.

My dear Mr. Beveridge,

If there were the slightest possibility your letter would have induced me to accept the invitation for the Indiana Progressive Convention on April eighteenth, but unfortunately I speak in Philadelphia on the afternoon of the nineteenth and attend a meeting at luncheon that day as well, so that it will be quite impossible for me to undertake anything in connection with the convention on the preceding day. I sincerely regret this circumstance and would gladly render what assistance I could if I saw any possibility of arranging it.

With all good wishes for the success of the meeting, I am,

Very sincerely yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

Mr. Albert J. Beveridge,
Indianapolis, Indiana.
