Jane Addams to Unknown, July 29, 1913 (fragment)

[top of letter cut off]

Mr. Bainbridge Colby addressed a Progressive dinner given in Chicago last February when I had the pleasure of hearing him for the first time.

He is a speaker of geniune oratorial ability and combines vigor with elegance of diction in an unusual degree. It certainly gave me much pleasure to hear him speak.

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

July 29, 1913.
