My dear Judge Lindsey: --

We seem to have been particularly unfortunate in missing each other during the Republican convention. I called you up several times but always found you out which was, of course, to be expected during those strenuous times.

May I congratulate you upon the splendid thing you have done for Suffrage in bringing it forward as a national issue, and tell you how many women appreciate it. I have met very few in the last few days who have not spoken of your action in the matter with real feeling. Will you not let me know if I can be of any service in pushing it forward in the new party, where your counsel will have so much weight!

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams [signed]

Judge Ben [B]. Lindsey
Denver, Colorado.
