Miss Jane Addams,

Chicago, Illinois.

Dear Miss Addams: --

Professor Hugo Münsterberg has just written us informing us that you have consented to the translation into German, by his niece, of your "Twenty Years at Hull-House", and asking our consent to such translation. Will you be so good as to let us know what terms you made for this translation? We feel decidedly that the German rights are of some value, a fact which the German publishers should be quick to recognize, inasmuch as they are almost without exception charging us a good round price for translation rights in German books.

If you have not made any stipulation regarding a financial return we should, with your permission, be inclined to demand the payment of a royalty on the German edition, which we in turn should credit to your account.

Awaiting your reply, and with the hope that this position meets with your approval, I am,

Very truly yours,
Edward C. Marsh [signed]
