April 9th 1920
Dear Miss Addams,
I am just back from my wanderings and I hope to be here except for short excursions until I sail on Apr. 24th or so. I am writing to thank you ever so warmly for allowing me to stay with you and for giving me some idea of Hull-House [page 2] life. I hope I shall have the great pleasure of meeting you again soon.
I am now quite settled to go to Central & Eastern Europe after I leave America and hope to meet Miss Julia Lathrop. I have not received your letter for the opening of the Wom. Intern. branch in Warsaw. If you rather not write it please [page 3] say so.
On my arrival here I found a wire informing me that the Murchison Reward of the Royal Geographical Society in London has been granted to me for my Asiatic travels. It seems almost fabulous, but I am pleased. Once [more] please accept my grateful feelings and great admiration
