My dear Miss Addams:
I see you are on the program for the meeting of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, Philadelphia, on Saturday, May 14th. We are planning the first of what we hope will be quarterly meetings of our National Council with our Executive Committee for dinner the evening of Monday, May 16th. We have decided on this date largely because we hope it will be possible for you to be present then. If you can come, we will hope to make this meeting of real importance, in not merely shaping our policy on a number of important questions, but also in securing the cooperation of a number of important groups.
Very sincerely yours,
James G. McDonald [signed]
Chairman.
