Miss Jane Addams
Hull House, 335 Halsted St,
Chicago.

My dear Miss Addams:

I suspect that our secretary, Mr Cope, has already announced you for the Washington address, as I sent word to him that you had thought that you could take it; so, the of course we should be glad to have you there for a longer time, we shall be very glad to count on you simply for the lecture. I do not know of any one who could fill your place, from the point of view of either the audience or the committee. If it is not too much of an imposition, therefore, I am inclined to ask you to keep the Washington engagement; but still not say anything more about the others.

Very sincerely yours,

Item Relations
