December 15, 1917.

My dear Mrs. Minthorn:

Miss Addams is out of the city and I am therefore answering your letter of December 9th in reference to the conscription law. I believe that every male citizen must register, but members of the [Friend's] Meeting are exempt from service.

The meeting to which you refer was the third annual meeting of the Woman's Peace Party. I am taking the liberty of sending you some publications in reference to our work, in which perhaps you will be interested.

Very sincerely yours,

Executive Secretary.

Mrs. Anna H. Minthorn,
1571 E. Adams St.,
Los Angeles, California.
