Baymeath,
Bar Harbor, Maine.

My dear Marcet

I was very grateful for your telegram about Manuel's [members?] -- How strange it is, resorting to chance in this day of self-direction -- the anxieties in addition to every thing else are anachronistic!

I hope to see you early in August, we are leaving here [page 2] the first, so I am anxious to be back for the visit of the Russian Mission in Chicago on the 3d & 4th.

Perhaps Manuel alone, or the entire family could come in for that, we could take good care of you at H.H.

Bar Harbor is as beautiful as ever [although] misty and cold. My love to the household & to the mother of it -- Always your loving Aunt Jane Addams.
