My dear Miss [Addams]--

The assistant whom I had last year was unable to return and I am looking about for a new one-- Have you any one in mind whom you think would be acceptable as an assistant in Settlement work. I [page 2] should want her to take charge of the housekeeping assist in the oversight of the general work and in any correspondence. She must above all be physically strong and will as the work imperatively demands that. The salary is seventy five dollars a month board and room of course provided.  I should like to have some one who has had some previous experience in settlement work. I shall be grateful to you if you have some one in mind to whom you will refer me. With cordial good wishes for the [page 3] continued success of the work at Hull House.

I am very sincerely

Mary B. Lippincott
