THE WOMAN'S PEACE PARTY

My dear Miss Balch:
Did I tell you when I was in New York that the women of the three Scandinavian countries, with Finland, had formed a Branch of the I.C.W.P.P., [cooperating], of course, with the Central Office. I do not know whether there is anything behind the movement or not which would seem to be hostile to Dr. Jacobs. The whole [relationship] there seems rather touchy.
I am enclosing a copy of my reply to Dr. Jacobs, which I hope will be conciliatory. She is really so fine in many ways that I very much dislike to [the?] break with her.
I am sending a letter for Mr. Lochner. I had a really delightful visit with him the other day and am much cheered by all he had to relate. I saw him Saturday. He was going to be in Detroit Monday, but I do not have his address after that and I seem unable to find his father-in-law’s Milwaukee address. If you know where he is, will you forward this to him, or perhaps you could get his address from Mr. [Plantiff].
Isn’t it wonderful the way our cause is moving lately? I should very much like to march in the Inaugural Parade in Washington and hope very much that the Woman’s Peace Party will not drop this. Could not your association do something to back it up?
