Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House, Chicago.
Dear Miss Addams:--
I hasten to relieve you from the cruel promise I exacted of you to speak for me on the 17th of this month. The memorial meeting at Rockford for other reasons has been declared off for the present, so I have no good excuse to interfere with my program. Of course the release is only for a while for I shall be after you again.
Is it now quite clear that you cannot give me a Sunday morning in March when I go to the southland, where you ought to be too during that cut-throat weather.
Very cordially yours,
Jenkin Lloyd Jones [signed]
