My dear Alice

The pictures of the babies are very nice and we both thank you for them.

The [bill] for the frame came and is two dollars. [Thurber] defends the high price on the ground that the wood is of superior quality. Weber and Mary were here to dinner last evening and are much pleased with the silver which has arrived. They are really very happy young people. I have been in my room with a wretched cold for two days but am better.
