My dear Miss Addams:
This letter will introduce my friend Dr. George L. Knapp, who is now engaged in some special newspaper work in Chicago. Dr. Knapp was formerly Chief Editorial Writer on the Rocky Mountain News and in that position was one of the most powerful factors in this community in our fight against the "Beast." He is a scholar, a gentlemen, a very dear friend of mine and a great admirer of yours.
Mrs. Knapp, the Doctor's wife, is an estimable lady, and also my friend. They desire to meet you and I am anxious to have them know you, for no one in Denver is more familiar with our situation and our fights here, and no one has done more to make them successful.
Any courtesies or kindness you can show my friends, will be greatly appreciated by me.
