Dear [Miss] Addams.

Before even sending you a note of thanks I have read your book with true and tender appreciation also with wonder and joy that you could set it all down in a [illegible] for the service of the human race. It is a book not to be set aside or forgotten and I feel happy and quite proud that your name was written for the 210nd time (as it proved) for me. Though your work has often proved a fountain of pain it will [page 2] prove an unending fountain of light and refreshment in the life which is to be.

Affectionately
Yours
Annie Fields
