Dear Miss Addams:

I am sending you herewith three copies of the "Spirit of Youth," which I should like very much to have you inscribe. One of them I wish to take to Hon. John Burns, of London, if you will be good enough to give me a line of introduction to him.

Mrs. Bancroft and I both think your latest book is, all things considered, your best. We have read it with surprised delight and inspiration. You have the poet's insight and give to [everyday] facts their true significance in a most effective way.

Very sincerely yours,

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago.
