Dear Miss Addams,

I was on the point of dictating a report of the Russian Relief Conference to send to you at Salzburg when your telegram arrived saying you would be here [tomorrow]. I will wait now and report verbally.

I think the Conference went on the whole very well, largely owing to the presence of Monsieur Birukoff, Member of the All-Russian Famine Relief Committee; and his presence was due to us, or rather to [Wilfred] Israel. Mr Wise, to whom I had telegraphed from Salzburg, came and was quite invaluable. He has had all the negotiations about the Russian Trade Agreement in his hands, as you probably know, and has very good personal relations with [Krasin].

No more till [tomorrow]. We have been very busy. My address is chez Oestreicher, Place du Port, 1; telephone No. 34.61, about a minute's walk from the Hotel Metropole. I enclose ↑send herewith↓ letters which have come for you here.

↑Yrs. V Sincerely↓

Catherine Marshall [signed].
