My dear Miss Nickerson:
I take very great pleasure in answering your letter of February the 7th addressed to Miss Addams who is now absent from the city, and in giving you some information in reference to the organization of the Woman's Peace Party.
I am sending you under separate cover some material in reference to our work including a copy of our Platform and a Congressional Program adopted at our recent Annual Meeting in Washington, and also a copy of the Principles recently endorsed by the Executive Board meeting in special session with the State Chairmen and chairmen of the groups and affiliated organizations in New York. This will show you our stand in the present crisis and also the principles embodied in our Platform.
I am enclosing in this letter an application blank for membership in the Woman's Peace Party and a copy of the Constitution which will give you the conditions on which your organization may become affiliated with the Woman's Peace Party, [namely] by the payment of an annual fee of five dollars.
We are particularly interested at present in the question of military training in the schools and universal military service, and I am including in the package I am sending you material along this line.
If there are any other questions you would like to ask me, I hope you will write, and if in arranging your work as State Superintendent of the Department of Peace and Arbitration of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, we can help you by furnishing material or bibliographies, or suggesting subjects of discussion, I hope that you will call upon us freely.
