My dear Alice

Why couldn't you draw up an agreement to be signed by Stanley and myself, to the effect that upon his majority the land would be turned over for such & such a price, and that in the meantime it was to be considered yours, in consideration of the time thereof. It would answer my purpose and save the fuss & feathers of the Probate Court. The Judge was away today & it occurred to me that this would be a satisfactory substitute.
