Darling--
It seems a long time since you went away and as I have been unsuccesful in many attempts to get Eleanor, I really know nothing of your real state of mind. Do let me know how you are. We have been a very wild state, owing to the strike and all and for a day or two, I thought that I might have to come to Bethel myself for treatment -- but things are better now. [page 2]
The page proof comes very slowly and in an effort I made yesterday to straighten matters with Browne's book store, poor [illegible] Browne felt so hurt that I have about concluded there is nothing to be done there.
The Nat. Arts & Crafts were here yesterday and we really had a fine day. I read my chapter on the arts at H. H. Sister Starr said never a word to me about it, and I fancy didn't quite like it. Always yrs J. A.
