My dear Miss Addams:

I am sorry to say that we have not put the [Tolstoy] article in our December number. It was scheduled for several numbers last summer, but inasmuch as it required coated paper, it was crowded out several times. We shall have to use it now after the book appears.

The two photographs to which you refer I shall look up and send them to you.

You must not think because of the delay in using your article that we do not want more articles from your pen whenever possible. It frequently happens that articles have got to be printed, for one reason or another. I have looked up our correspondence with you, and I see that you state that the article would have to appear by the first of October. This fact was forgotten, and I had planned to bring the article out in our February number.

I am glad that you like Miss Wyatt's articles.

Faithfully yours,

S S McClure [signed]
