JANE ADDAMS FAVORS WOMAN'S SUFFRAGE

In answer to a question from Mrs. Emma B. Carroll, local suffragette, as to her views on woman suffrage, Jane Addams, community worker of Hull House, Chicago fame, has replied as follows:

[Girard,] Kan., May 13 -- Mrs. Emma B. Carroll -- Passage quoted shows legislation protecting street trading of children. It was obtained by help of newspapers and had little connection with elected officials. Colorado leads all states in its complete code of laws for children. I certainly believe that votes for women will be of great value in securing social legislation. Have been speaking for a week in the suffrage campaign in Kansas.

JANE ADDAMS,
Care Hull House, Chicago.
