My dear Mrs. [Fields]:-

I thank you so much for your dear letter. It has pleased me more than any other which has come, including one from Colonel Roosevelt.

It has been encouraging to find that people are ready for a frank discussion of the whole subject, but I can scarcely hope to go through five articles without making many mistakes. I am grateful for this cordial response.

Thank you very much for the copy of Miss Jewett's letters. I hope I may see you when I next come to Boston.

Sincerely yours,
Jane Addams [signed]
