Biographical Text

Henry R. Seager was an economist. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1890 and pursued post-graduate studies at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania in the following years. He served as a professor of political economy in his early career. Particularly focused on the labor economics, Seger also worked as the secretary of the Shipbuilding Labor Adjustment Board in Washington during 1917-19. He was appointed as trustee of the Academy of Political Science and also wrote books like "Principles of Economics" and "Trust and Corporate Problems" among few others. In 1922, Seager was named President of American Economic Association.

Seager married Harriet Henderson in 1899. They had one child together. Seager died of pneumonia in 1930 during his visit to Russia.
