Miss Jane Addams.

My dear Miss Addams:

When we last wrote and, through Miss Laughlin, spoke to you about a book of your experiences at Hull House you did not leave us altogether hopeless that you might at a later time undertake this for us. Is the time any riper now so far as your other duties go? I know it is so far as the [desirability] of  such a word from you is concerned. May I hear from you encouragingly?

Yours very truly,

Robert Adger Bowen.
