HULL-HOUSE,
335 SOUTH HALSTED STREET,
CHICAGO.

My dear Mrs Blaine

Couldn't you induce Mr Tilden to increase the committee to five, so that we might have Mr Duddleston, Mr White and Mr O'Ryan. That would give representation from the three points of view as it were. Mr Duddleston as you know, was at one time Commissioner on the Bridewell Board and [page 2] is much interested in the John Worthy School. If we can only have one man, I think that Mr O'Ryan would be the best one.

May I ask you, if it convenient, to send your annual contribution of five hundred dollars to Hull-House this month? We have this awful scramble at the end of each year to bring [page 3] our accounts up to a respectable showing and the shops in particular are always prone to outrun their appropriations. You know how grateful we are for your continued interest in them.

Always faithfully yours

Jane Addams
