My dear Miss Addams:--
I am enclosing herewith a copy of a letter I have written Judge Mack, which speaks for itself.
I want to get the Committee appointed as soon as I can, and as soon as I can agree upon a list that might be satisfactory to the various powers and influences working for the children, I expect to write them and ask if they will accept. I find that appointing such a committee is not free from difficulty, and I have received a number of letters in regard to the matter containing suggestions which it will not be possible to comply with, although I would like to do so.
Of course, I expect that some of these names will not accept and then my idea was to have a Committee of fifteen, and no doubt some will have to be eliminated.
I would be glad also to have any suggestions from Miss Lathrop, if she cares to offer any.
