Dear Miss Nestor: --

I am very sorry indeed but I shall be out of town on the evening of June 5th. I am giving the Commencement address at Bryn Mawr College on the sixth so must be well on my way to Philadelphia on the night of the fifth.

It is very good of you to ask me to speak at your anniversary celebration and I very much appreciate your friendship. I was so sorry not to attend the meeting <and [discourse?]> the other evening, but we were having our annual Exhibition at Hull-House and I could not leave.
