May 21, 1912.

My dear Mr. Garland: --

I hope very much that Mrs. Garland and yourself will be able to come to dinner on the evening of June 8th and see our young people give Galsworthy's "Pigeon" afterwards. There is a bare possibility that I may not be back from Baltimore but in that case Miss Hannig promises to act as your hostess. I hope, however, to reach Chicago on the five o'clock train.

If our troupe succeeds in producing the play with one-half the charm the Little Theatre people gave it in New York, it will be well worth seeing.

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams. [signed]
