Dear Miss Addams:

Will you tell me whether <when> you went on the advisory board of the After School Club, you understood it was a business enterprise. I presume it was pure carelessness on my part, but I have the impression it was an altruistic movement.

I have no doubt they are doing good work which is deserving of our approval, only I wanted to be sure that there was no attempt to mislead, and I ask you this in a purely personal way, just to satisfy my own mind.

Always your friend,
<BCL>
Miss Jane Addams,
