Dear Madam. I have just learned that you are a daughter of Senator John H. Addams who was a familiar figure in Springfield from 1854 until 1870. I enclose a story about his connection with people well known here. I trust that you can send me his photograph to go with my collection of Illinois men, especially those who knew Lincoln. I have a photo of yourself taken some 10 years ago and would be pleased to get a more recent one autographed. Enclosed find stamp for reply.
