My dear Miss Nestor:-

The enclosed circular explains the arrangements Mrs. McCulloch's Committee has made for a public hearing at Springfield on the afternoon of April thirteenth. We are planning for fifteen or twenty speakers who will present various aspects of the need of the municipal franchise for women.

We hope very much you will consent to be one of them, giving a three minute talk. The Committee is obliged to ask each speaker to defray her own expenses, but fortunately the reduced fare on the special train will make this less burdensome. May I not hear from you at once as to the possibility of your coming?

Sincerely yours,

Jane Addams [signed]
