Dear Miss [Addams]:

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that you have been elected a member of the General Committee on the Limitation of Armament. The object and scope of the Committee are set forth in the Declaration, a copy of which is enclosed for your information.

The Committee is composed of leading men in different sections of the country who will aid in organizing public opinion and in coordinating the efforts of existing organizations who will [cooperate] with us to carry forward the work outlined in the Declaration.

From time to time meetings of the General Committee will be held in Washington for Conference and to decide upon action in accordance with the detailed program of the Committee which is now being completed.

Kindly advise the Committee of your acceptance.
