THE SEVEN ARTS
132 MADISON AVENUE, NEW YORK

July 20, 1917.

My dear Miss Addams,

I don't know whether you have seen the work that we have published in connection with the war. We have been trying to furnish a medium for expression for the constructive forces working toward peace and internationalism, in order that not all sanity may be smothered out. I am writing this to ask whether you do not desire to express yourself at this time on the subject of Woman and the War. We should feel that the Seven Arts were doing a real public service if we published such an article from you. May we not hear from you in the matter?

Yours sincerely,

James Oppenheim [signed]

Miss Jane Addams,
Hull House,
Chicago, Ill.
