My dear Miss Salewsky: --Miss Addams has referred your letter of May 8th to this office, and I am writing to express my interest in what you are doing and my hope that you may be able to accomplish much good. It is certainly most necessary for us, who are interested in peace work, to be giving much time now to the situations which inevitably arise out of war and to help in every way to maintain the standards, educational, industrial and political, which now exist and to do what may be done to help raise these standards. I am sure you must be interested in the work of the National Child Labor Association now. They are stressing so emphatically the need of educational standards. The "Survey" of April 28th has a most interesting statement, a plan to safe-guard children in farm work. I am sure you would be interested in this.
