Dear Lady: --

I think our letters must have crossed.

We are to have a Peace meeting at the McAlpin Hotel on Friday and Saturday of this week. I think that I would better stay at the hotel until the meetings are over and then come and stay at the settlement over Sunday if I may. I have written Mr. Kellogg, sending him a very encouraging letter from Mr. Lochner who saw the President with David Starr Jordan. The whole matter of the commission seems to be received more favorably than ever before. It might therefore be worth while to have at least a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Henry Street group. Will you talk to Mr. Kellogg about it?

Affectionately yours,

Jane Addams. [signed]
